CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA – FEBRUARY 22, 2026 Foreign tourist became a victim of a robbery in the Pie de la Popa sector. Two robbers on a motorcycle targeted her; one jumped off the bike and tried to steal her purse, while the second secured the escape. What happened next surprised even the robber himself – the woman began to resist and almost fight over her purse. When the robber failed to snatch it from her hands, he got back on the motorcycle and disappeared with his accomplice.
Similar behavior is not recommended during a robbery. This is especially true in Latin America, where the rate of violence is higher than in the rest of the world. Your personal valuables are never more important than your life. If you catch a robber off guard with unpredictable behavior, he may act stressfully and impulsively.
