VALPARAÍSO, CHILE – APRIL 2, 2024 In the Bellavista district, near a supermarket, a knife attack occurred in broad daylight in the middle of the street. The attack was preceded by a heated argument between two women. A 30-year-old woman then grabbed a knife and stabbed a 50-year-old woman several times. Both of them apparently come from a homeless background.
The victim was taken to the hospital, but fortunately her injuries were not life-threatening. The attacker, however, was detained by the police and faced charges of attempted murder.
The incident was also commented on by local residents on social media. Many of them said that the area is known in the city as a place where homeless people, punks, and junkies gather. Reportedly, they often argue over trivial matters and are frequently under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
