SÃO LUÍS, MARANHÃO, BRAZIL – MAY 28, 2025 Young man known by the nickname “Terrorista da Estiva” was shot three times during a shootout with members of a rival criminal faction. Bystanders recorded the last minutes of his life on video, showing him desperately struggling to breathe and rolling on the ground. A few minutes later, he died.
His body was transported to the medical institute in Bacanza, where an autopsy was performed. The results are not yet known. Although eyewitnesses confirmed that Terrorista da Estiva was a gangster, the police still had to investigate and officially verify the circumstances.
Equally disturbing is the passivity of bystanders, who watched as he succumbed instead of attempting to help. Sometimes, even minor intervention can help preserve life. No matter his criminal background, every person is entitled to the right to live.
