QUICAPATA, CARMEN ALTO, PERU – APRIL 18, 2025 When a random passerby found the woman’s remains in the empty lot, he immediately called police to the scene. She had been cut into several pieces and wrapped in several black plastic garbage bags that were scattered around.
The forensic team identified the victim as a 23-year-old Olga Huamán Sulca. It was further confirmed that she had been strangled and had her throat cut.

The police investigation, thanks to witness statements, quickly got on the trail of her cousin, whose name was Jhon Huayhua Huamán. He had scratches on his face and chest. The victim’s cell phone was also found on his person. He confessed to the crime.
Jhon Huayhua Huamán stated in his statement that he murdered his cousin on April 16. The motive was that she refused to have sexual intercourse with him. When he murdered her, he used a saw and a box cutter to cut up her body to make it easier to dispose of it.
When the public learned of his horrific act, aggressive crowds gathered outside his house. They wanted to lynch him, but the police managed to keep the perpetrator safe. In the process, two police motorcycles were burned and the perpetrator’s house was badly damaged. Tear gas had to be used to disperse the mob.
