CHHATTISGARH, INDIA – MARCH 14, 2025 Devastating road accident in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh claimed the life of a young woman during the Holi festival celebrations. The victim, 23-year-old Richa Kaushik, was the daughter of Sweety Kaushik, a prominent leader of the BJP’s women’s wing in Bhilai.

Reports indicate that Richa was traveling with a group of friends on the bypass road connecting the cities of Durg and Rajnandgaon. The group was in a Skoda vehicle that lost control at high speed, struck the central divider, overturned multiple times, and eventually landed off the road.
Richa sustained severe head injuries in the crash. Despite being rushed to Ramkrishna Care Hospital in Raipur, the state capital, doctors were unable to save her life.
Three other young individuals who were in the car with her also suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in hospital.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. The incident has sent shockwaves through both the local community and political circles, where Sweety Kaushik is regarded as an influential figure.
