TORREÓN, COAHUILA, MEXICO – FEBRUARY, 2017 Jessica Valeria, 15, of Colonia Loma Real, had a fight with her parents and, offended, went to an apartment near her house that she sometimes shared with her student friends. The next day, her friends found her dead and covered in blood on her bed.
At first glance, it looked as if Jessica had been severely beaten in the face, but all her friends testified that this was impossible. They only stated that Jessica drank a large amount of beer before she went to bed.
Although her parents are certain that the girl was beaten and strangled to death, the medical examiner has a different opinion. Sexual assault and foreign culpability have been ruled out. She is said to have suffocated as a result of broncho aspiration, which is the inhalation of a foreign object. In this case, it was her vomit. Bleeding is also said to be a common occurrence during this process. To prove his claim, he provided a photo of her face from the morgue, which shows that she has no visible injuries.
Despite considerable evidence that Jessica died as a result of broncho aspiration after excessive alcohol consumption, her parents never believed it. They fought and may still be fighting for justice for their daughter’s death.
