BOTOŞANI, ROMANIA 15-year-old Romanian girl decided to take her own life after a fight with her parents. They interfered in her new relationship because they believed her new boyfriend was distracting her from her schoolwork. She put this in her suicide note.

A group of shepherds witnessed her suicide. Unfortunately, they were too far away to stop her. They were having lunch when they noticed the girl walking in a circle around a tree. They didn’t think anything of it and continued eating their lunch. As they finished eating, a shepherdess pointed out that she thought something was wrong with the girl. She seemed to be kicking around with her hands and feet. But by the time they reached the tree, it was too late and the girl was no longer moving at all. Deciding that she was definitely dead and there was no point in attempting first aid, they did not handle the body and called the police to the scene.
In this case, the reaction of the shepherds cannot be said to be correct. If you witness someone dying in front of your eyes, first aid should always be attempted. Think about it, because you never know when someone will need your first aid.
If you’re thinking about suicide, please stop and recognize that your pain is not permanent, but this step would be. It may feel like there’s no other way, but there is hope, even if it’s hard to see right now. Your feelings are temporary, and with help, they can pass.
