Some Guatemalan media downplayed the motive for her suicide. They wrote that her parents were not to blame for her death because taking her phone was such a trivial matter that no one would kill themselves over it. However, generalizations are not appropriate here because each person is unique. What may seem like a trivial matter to one person can be the end of everything for another, especially for a teenage girl.
Always be sensitive and empathetic to those around you. Listen to the needs of others and don’t be afraid to communicate with them. Due to the lack of these things, many suicides have ended in a tragic way. This applies not only to parents but to all human beings.
If you’re thinking about suicide, please stop and recognize that your pain is not permanent, but this step would be. It may feel like there’s no other way, but there is hope, even if it’s hard to see right now. Your feelings are temporary, and with help, they can pass.
Talking about what you're going through might feel difficult, but it’s the first step toward healing. Don’t turn away from the people who want to support you. Life can offer more than what you're feeling right now, and the pain doesn't have to last forever. You deserve help, and it’s available.
