MAKASSAR, SOUTH SULAWESI, INDONESIA – OCTOBER 10, 2026 16-year-old girl died in a brutal traffic accident that occurred on Jalan Cakalang Street. The victim, Syaimah Atika, was riding as a passenger on a Yamaha Fino motorcycle driven by her 17-year-old friend, NA.

According to preliminary police findings, the motorcycle collided with a parked Toyota Calya, causing both girls to fall onto the road. Syaimah ended up in the path of a truck traveling in the same direction, which ran over her. She suffered devastating head injuries and died at the scene.
Her friend survived the accident with abrasions to her right knee, leg, and elbow. Police identified the truck driver as a 42-year-old man with the initial H. The circumstances of the accident and the potential liability of the individuals involved are currently under police investigation.
