18-year-old girl was living with a severe case of spinal scoliosis – an abnormal sideways curvature of the spine that can drastically impact daily functioning and quality of life. In extreme cases like hers, the only chance for a normal, pain-free life lies in undergoing a complex surgical procedure that involves a multidisciplinary team, including a neurosurgeon, orthopedic surgeon, and anesthesiologist.
