PARINTINS, BRAZIL – DECEMBER 8, 2023 The corpse of a girl with a gunshot wound to the head and signs of torture was found in a remote area outside the town of Parintins. The body was accompanied by a warning note from the drug cartel, “She died because she was a snitch”. The girl was identified as 18-year-old Manuela Farias do Carmo. She had been registered with the police as missing since 6 December 2023.
