ARARANGUÁ, SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 1, 2026 19-year-old man identified as Igor de Aguiar Custódio was shot dead in the evening at a gas station on Avenida 7 de Setembro in the city center. The crime was captured by the facility’s security camera. Allegedly, this is the first murder of 2026 committed in this city.

According to police statements, the victim was standing in the gas station when he was ambushed by three armed, masked men who approached him from behind. When they began shooting, Igor tried to flee, but he was unfortunately struck by the bullets. During the forensic examination of the body, experts found that he had been hit at least four times in the head.
The perpetrators immediately fled the scene. Police are currently conducting an intensive search for them. Their motive also remains under investigation.
