SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – FEBRUARY 19, 2025 20-year-old student Samir Francisco Zia Rojas lost his life after being hit by a heavy truck. The incident took place in the morning hours at the intersection of Bolívar and Uruguay streets in the Ciudad Nueva district.

Some witnesses stated that around 6 a.m., they saw Samir leaving his apartment and preparing to cross the road. However, he forgot to look carefully in all directions and walked directly into the path of the oncoming truck.
