MOZAMBIQUE – DECEMBER 27, 2025 Terrorists from the African branch of the notorious ISIS carried out an armed attack on Rwandan soldiers near the village of Kojol in the Macomia area in the north of the country. The attack was carried out using machine guns and grenade launchers. The result was 5 dead soldiers, many others injured, and seized military equipment.
Rwandan soldiers are present in Mozambique on an official military mission at the request of the Mozambican government. Their main task is fighting extremist and terrorist groups, including ISIS. In addition, their presence is connected to protecting the country’s key infrastructure, such as the Cabo Delgado gas pipeline.
