TIBERIAS, ISRAEL – SEPTEMBER 22, 2019 Anna Rimburg, a 66-year-old dentist, tragically lost her life while taking a walk along the Tiberias promenade by the Sea of Galilee. According to medics from United Hatzalah, a palm tree was suddenly toppled by strong winds, striking her and causing fatal injuries.
Officials reported that wind gusts in the city reached up to 43mph (70 kph) on Sunday, creating hazardous conditions along the shoreline. The incident occurred near a Chabad House compound, where Rimburg was found trapped beneath the fallen tree.
Magen David Adom medics who arrived at the scene confirmed that she had no vital signs and was declared dead immediately. The sudden collapse of the tree left rescuers powerless to save her, highlighting the dangers posed by extreme weather conditions.
