SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – FEBRUARY 25, 2025 In the community of La Yaguiza, a suburb of San Francisco de Macorís, a tragic accident occurred that claimed two lives. 25 year old Leydy Mercedes and her little daughter, Mayelin Mercedes, were riding a scooter through a narrow alley. They tried to avoid a tractor, but its driver failed to notice them, crossed their path and ran over them. They were both dead on the spot.

The whole incident is now under investigation by police and no further information is available. The entire local community, including the driver of the tractor, is absolutely shocked by this tragedy.
