DOMPIM, WESTERN REGION, GHANA Notorious Ghanaian gang leader, Kwame Ato Asare Ani, was brutally attacked by members of a rival faction. They stripped him naked and beat him mercilessly with fists and machetes. He was subsequently hospitalized. Interestingly, he was not killed.

Kwame Ato Asare Ani is the leader of a mining gang in the city of Axim. In 2023, he made headlines when he and his group attacked a police officer at an illegal mining site. The officer seized his weapon and forced him to kneel.
