CIUDAD VICTORIA, TAMAULIPAS, MEXICO – MARCH, 2020 Hit squad working for a drug cartel stormed a family home in the Azteca neighborhood and began shooting at everyone inside without warning. The attack immediately killed two men, and critically wounded a woman and another man. Their injuries were so severe that they also died en route to the hospital.
Police investigation revealed that all the victims were family members – the father and his children. The inquiry led authorities to a drug cartel, suggesting that the attack was likely part of a cartel feud. However, the perpetrators were never apprehended, and it remains unknown which cartel ordered the killings.
Ciudad Victoria is located close to the U.S. border, making it a strategic hub for drug trafficking. Cartels compete for control and territory in the area, contributing to a significant increase in violent crime.
