PAULISTA, PERNAMBUCO, BRAZIL – SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 20-year-old Júlia Ramilly dos Santos Silva was found dead in a motel room along the PE-022 highway. She was lying face down on the bed, her blouse torn, with a TV remote inserted into her private parts. Visible marks of strangulation were present on her neck. Torn artificial nails and scattered clothing indicated a struggle had taken place.

The horrifying discovery was made by a maid in the early morning hours, who went to check the room after noticing that the guest had not yet checked out. She immediately contacted the police.
Reviewing security footage, authorities identified the suspect as 25-year-old Djalma Diego Oliveira Deodato, who had left the room two hours before Júlia’s body was found. He was quickly apprehended by police, offered no resistance, and confessed. He stated that he met the victim in the Pau Amarelo neighborhood at a drug-selling location. They purchased and used cocaine together, and later went to the motel early in the morning for consensual sex.

Further investigation revealed that a few days before the murder, he had approached another woman on a dating app, posing as an engineering student, inviting her to a nearby motel, and sending aggressive, obscene, and sadistic messages until she reported him to the police.
Júlia was the mother of a five-year-old girl and worked as an independent manicurist. She shared photos of her work and personal images, such as selfies and celebration pictures, on social media. Her body was displayed and then buried on September 24 at Santo Amaro Cemetery in Recife. The investigation continues at the Paulista police station.
