PIACATU, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – JULY 8, 2025 Security camera captured the tragic moment when a fast-running dog struck a 72-year-old man, knocking his legs out from under him. He fell and hit his head hard on the asphalt, leaving him in a coma.
Immediately after the incident, several bystanders rushed to help and took him to the emergency room. His condition was assessed as critical, and he was transferred to Santa Casa Hospital in Araçatuba, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator.
The victim awoke from the coma in early October 2025. Unfortunately, it was only a partially happy outcome. It was discovered that he had become a quadriplegic – paralyzed from the neck down and unable to use any of his limbs.
