SALVATIERRA, GUANAJUATO, MEXICO – OCTOBER 7, 2025 On the rural road between Urireo and the exit to Morelia, a man named Nico, widely known in the area as an ice-cream seller, was murdered. At the moment when he was livestreaming on Facebook, complaining about the poor condition of the roads, two armed men on a red motorcycle appeared. Without hesitation, they began shooting at him.
Nico was hit three times – in the leg and in the buttock. While bleeding to death, he sent his wife emotional last words through the livestream:
“I love you, they already killed me, sweetheart, I love you, take care of my children, love; they killed me here at the exit to Morelia; I’m running out of breath, I love you, I love you, sweetheart, take care of my children, sweetheart, raise them, sweetheart, I’m dying, I’m lying here in the field, I love you… tell my children that I love them, they should come quickly.”
Bystanders immediately called emergency services and provided first aid. But Nico unfortunately died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The incident and the motive for the murder are still under police investigation.
