JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, USA – AUGUST 26, 2018 At the Jacksonville Landing entertainment complex in Florida, a tragic shooting occurred during a video game tournament for Madden NFL 19. The competition was held at the GLHF Game Bar gaming venue and was attended by approximately 150 players and spectators.
The shooter was 24-year-old David Katz from Baltimore, who was himself participating in the tournament. After losing one of the competitive games, witnesses said he refused to shake his opponent’s hand and subsequently left the venue. Shortly afterward, he returned armed and began shooting in the crowded room.

The recording shows the players moments before the first shots are heard. Investigators later stated that Katz was the only shooter and that he targeted tournament participants during the attack.
