TERESINA, PIAUÍ, BRAZIL – OCTOBER 28, 2025 23-year-old Maria Eduarda Ferreira Sena Reis was murdered on the street in the Lindalma Soares residential area in the northern part of the city. According to all available information, she was ambushed by an armed assailant while returning home in the early morning hours. Her body, with eight gunshot wounds, was found by a passerby several hours later.

The victim was wearing a court-issued ankle monitor, used to supervise compliance with house arrest for less serious offenses. It is not yet clear what crime she committed or whether it is connected to her murder. All of these questions are currently under police investigation.
