SAINT ANDREW PARISH, JAMAICA – OCTOBER 22, 2025 Woman identified as Sashana Shaw was found dead in a wooded riverbed area in the Rose Hill community of Content. She was wearing only the bottom part of her underwear and had multiple slash wounds caused by a machete. Local residents had to make a dangerous descent down a slope to reach the body.

The discovery of the body was reported by the victim’s daughter, who was also attacked and suffered a serious head injury. She identified the attacker as Ricardo McCarthy, her mother’s partner. Locals believe McCarthy reacted impulsively when Sashana told him she wanted to break up with him. According to them, Sashana had been planning to leave him for some time because of his explosive fits of jealousy.
A manhunt has been launched for the suspect. The police have classified the case as murder and grievous bodily harm. Further details are currently under police investigation.
