BRAZIL Military police patrol uncovered a group of traffickers traveling inside a car. A wild chase began, accompanied by a shootout. The police managed to kill several of them, including the driver. This caused their vehicle to crash and led to the arrest of the rest.
Although incidents like this sound like scenes from an action movie, in Brazil they are unfortunately part of daily police work. Across the country, several dozen shootouts occur every single day. In the state of Rio de Janeiro alone, more than 2,500 were recorded in 2024.
