LAGOS, NIGERIA – AUGUST 21, 2024 There was an attempt to kidnap a local car dealer, which fortunately ended unsuccessfully. A group of young men tried to forcibly take the man away, but the situation quickly spiraled out of their control. Local residents arrived at the scene, followed by the police, who intervened before more serious consequences could occur.
The incident quickly spread on social media through a video showing the suspects visibly injured, humiliated, and begging for mercy. According to police sources, three of the attackers were arrested and taken into custody, while two others fled and are still being sought. Police confirmed that it was a targeted kidnapping attempt intended for extortion.
The case has once again reopened the debate about safety and crime, particularly in areas where ransom kidnappings remain a frequent problem.
