CALIFORNIA, USA – MARCH, 2023 The incident occurred in the Antelope Valley area near the city of Lancaster. A man, whose name was never released, caused a traffic accident. When the police arrived at the scene and began their investigation, he took advantage of a moment of inattention, got into a police vehicle, and drove off. After a 45-minute chase, officers deployed spike strips, which damaged the tires. As the vehicle gradually came to a stop, the man jumped out at a speed of approximately 70 MPH (110 KPH). He sustained serious injuries and later died after being taken to the hospital.
