PIAUÍ, BRAZIL – JULY 15, 2026 Mototaxi driver survived a brutal robbery in which a customer cut his throat with a knife and stole his motorcycle. The attack happened while he was transporting a man whom he had picked up shortly before in a rural area near the town of Sambaíba.
Despite suffering a serious injury and losing a large amount of blood, he managed to survive the attack. Local residents provided him with first aid and called emergency services. After being treated at a local hospital, he was transferred to a specialized medical facility in the city of Teresina.

Police immediately launched a search for the attacker. Thanks to surveillance footage, investigators managed to track down and arrest the suspect the following day. According to investigators, the man confessed to the crime and led police to the location where he had hidden the stolen motorcycle. The case continues to be investigated as a violent robbery involving an attempted killing of the victim.
