SIRAJDIKHAN, MUNSHIGANJ, BANGLADESH – 25 NOVEMBER, 2020 By the Goalbari drainage canal in the small village of Latabdi, a woman’s body was found abandoned by the roadside. A passerby discovered it after noticing a human foot protruding from the water plants. It was immediately apparent that she had been the victim of a brutal murder – her throat had been slit, and a blood-stained knife was found next to the body. The victim was quickly identified as a 24-year-old local resident.
Police carried out standard procedures at the scene before sending her body for a forensic autopsy at the Munshiganj morgue. The identity of the perpetrator and the motive were never made public. The autopsy results suggest that there were at least two or more perpetrators.
