ANDES, ANTIOQUIA, COLOMBIA – JANUARY 30, 2026 43-year-old man identified as Manuel Giovanni Luna Cruz was shot dead. The attack took place in a restaurant in the Zapamanga II neighborhood, when an armed man entered and fired several shots at him before fleeing.
Luna Cruz sustained severe injuries and, despite rapid medical intervention, died at Foscal Hospital. He had gunshot wounds to the head, abdomen, and lower limbs.
Police secured the scene and collected shell casings and bullets as evidence. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrator and are investigating possible motives, including alleged settling of scores. The victim had a criminal record for several serious offenses, including domestic violence and illegal possession of firearms.
Security cameras from the scene are being analyzed to help clarify the course of the attack and the suspect’s escape. The police are also urging the public to provide any relevant information.
