LIMA, PERU – MARCH 15, 2026 Argument between a couple in an apartment in the La Victoria neighborhood ended in murder and a brutal attempt to dispose of her body. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Beatriz Carolina Huampiri Borda. According to all available information, she confronted her boyfriend, 29-year-old Jose Alejandro Romero Durand, about him cheating on her. He responded with a fit of rage, grabbing her by the throat and not letting go until she showed no vital signs. At the time of the murder, their daughters, aged 4 and 7, were in the next room calmly watching TV, unaware that anything was happening.

In an attempt to dispose of her body and cover up the tracks of the murder, Jose acted with unprecedented brutality. He dismembered her remains using a saw and knives to make them easier to handle. He then ground the severed parts in an industrial meat grinder.
Jose was caught in the act in the bathroom of his apartment. Police were alerted by observant neighbors who reacted to suspicious noises coming from the apartment. He is currently awaiting sentencing in a detention center.
