ANASTÁCIO, MATO GROSSO DO SUL, BRAZIL – MARCH 31, 2026 Suspect in a double murder, Wellington dos Santos Vieira, nicknamed “Bola,” was shot dead by military police officers. The incident occurred when he refused to surrender and attempted to escape.

According to the officers’ report, they were forced to open fire because the suspect attacked one of them with a knife. However, CCTV footage shows that he was trying to flee and was shot in the back.
Vieira was suspected of the murder of a married couple – 46-year-old Maria Clair Luzni and 50-year-old Vilson Fernandes Cabral. He had no personal relationship with them and was allegedly only a hired killer, contracted by their 26-year-old daughter, who has already been detained.
