BENGALURU, KARNATAKA, INDIA – APRIL 20, 2026 Police uncovered a case that was initially reported as a hit-and-run traffic accident, but later it turned out to be a premeditated murder.
The victim was 55-year-old Vijayalakshmi, who was hit by a motorcycle on Kurubarahalli Pipeline Road. At first, everything appeared to be a normal accident, but the investigation later showed that the collision was intentional.
According to police, several people were involved in the crime. One of them, Chetan, learned that the woman had a significant amount of cash at home and passed this information to other members of the group. The main organizer, Manjunath alias “Manja”, then planned a fake traffic accident, which was carried out by Rakesh, who intentionally hit the woman with a motorcycle.
While the woman was recovering in hospital after the accident, another gang member attempted to break into her house to steal the money. This attempt was stopped by neighbors. Vijayalakshmi later succumbed to her injuries, and the case was reclassified as murder.
Police gradually arrested several suspects, and the investigation showed that it was a well-planned conspiracy aimed at obtaining the victim’s cash. However, the main organizer of the case had meanwhile died in hospital.
