MARACANAÚ, CEARÁ, BRAZIL – MAY 15, 2026 Tragic accident occurred in which a 72-year-old woman died. The senior woman was trying to cross Avenida 12 when she was hit by a bus turning right.
According to witnesses, the woman had shortly before gotten off another bus and then moved to the place where she wanted to cross the road. At the moment she stepped into the roadway, she allegedly ended up in the driver’s blind spot, and he was no longer able to prevent the collision. The bus completely crushed her head and killed her on the spot.
Driver remained at the scene and then voluntarily went to the police for questioning. The case is being investigated as negligent vehicular manslaughter. The woman’s identity has not been officially released.
