NORTH WAZIRISTAN DISTRICT, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN – DECEMBER 19, 2025 Armed militants from the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) movement attempted to attack a military headquarters of the Pakistani army. The attack began with the explosion of a vehicle loaded with explosives, which one of the attackers used in an attempt to breach the base’s defenses. Subsequently, other militants attempted to enter the compound and attack the soldiers present.
Pakistani security forces repelled the attack and killed all the attackers during the subsequent clash. According to the army, suicide bombers who were involved in the attempt to break through the facility’s defenses were also among the dead.
Members of the Pakistani security forces were also killed during the firefight, and several others were wounded. Authorities later stated that the attack was part of the ongoing activities of the TTP, which has long been conducting an armed struggle against the Pakistani state in the region.
