SAN FÉLIX, BOLÍVAR, VENEZUELA – MAY 17, 2025 Body of a teenage girl was found. The discovery was reported by passersby, who noticed the body lying in a ravine between the Los Arenales and Las Piedritas areas and called the police.

After security forces arrived, the area was cordoned off and an initial examination of the scene began. According to information published by local media, the victim was believed to be a 15-year-old student, although some early reports stated that she was 16 years old. Her identity was confirmed only after the body was found, and investigators from Venezuela’s CICPC began investigating the case.
Investigators stated that the body was found partially undressed and showed signs of violence. Preliminary information indicated that the cause of death may have been strangulation, while media outlets also reported additional injuries to the body. Authorities therefore examined several investigative theories, including the possibility that the girl had been the victim of a violent crime.
According to statements from family members, the girl was last seen alive on the evening before her body was found. After she disappeared, her family tried to contact her but without success. The following day, her body was discovered in a remote ravine, where investigators believe the attack may have taken place, or where the body may have been taken after her death.
Crime scene investigators collected evidence at the site, interviewed witnesses, and analyzed the circumstances surrounding the victim’s final hours. The investigation also included verifying the girl’s movements before she disappeared and determining who had last been in contact with her. Police were also reviewing possible surveillance footage and other evidence that could help identify the perpetrator.
