MARECHAL DEODORO, ALAGOAS, BRAZIL – FEBRUARY 20, 2012 The dead body of a young woman was found buried in a shallow grave in an area known as Matinha. She has been identified as 19-year-old Damaris Josielle Santos.

Police concluded that someone had executed her at the same location. Gunshot holes were found on her body – in the back of her head and abdomen. Her clothes were soaked in gasoline, which may indicate the killer’s intention to set her body on fire.
Her father, 44-year-old Jose Nilton Santos, said his daughter was a good girl but had always sought out bad friends. He said she had recently found a new boyfriend but never mentioned his name to her family.
