Her dead body was found the same day by a dirt road. Her breasts and panties were exposed. Her long hair was wrapped around her neck. She showed signs of strangulation.

As the road on which she was found was quite busy and no traces of blood or urine were found at the scene, although her panties were still wet from having urinated, the police concluded that she had been killed elsewhere. Someone probably just dumped her out of the car. Katerin showed no signs of sexual violence.
