He shot his wife with shotgun and then hanged himself

OLINDA, BRAZIL – MARCH 13, 2023 There has been a brutal murder in the Águas Compridas neighbourhood. The day before her 46th birthday, Dayse Gonçalves da Silva was shot in the head with a shotgun by her 43-year-old husband, Leonardo Gomes da Silva. He was found dead the following day. He committed suicide by hanging.

According to the victim’s family, the two had been in a relationship for four years. Dayse wanted to divorce her husband but was financially dependent on him because she was unemployed. But when she got a job in the school kitchen, she finally decided to divorce. This probably drove her husband to this heinous act.
