RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – APRIL 6, 2025 In the Nova Holanda community in the Complexo da Maré area in the northern part of Rio de Janeiro, a tragic incident occurred that ended in a double death.

According to Brazilian media, there was a dispute between former partners that escalated into a violent act. During the conflict, a man named Marco Aurélio Venceslau de Castro (41) shot his former partner Mônica Almeida Alves Silva (39). The entire incident is said to have taken place in front of their four-year-old child, who according to witnesses is autistic.
After the attack, the man then turned the weapon on himself and committed suicide. Both died at the scene before emergency services arrived.
