GUATEMALA CITY, GUATEMALA – NOVEMBER 4, 2022 Body of a 20-year-old woman was found at a waste dump in the Olguita de León district near Paso de la Cruz. She was discovered hanged, with her body hanging from a rope.
No obvious signs of physical assault were found at the scene, apart from a mark corresponding to a knot on her neck that matched the rope used. Investigators also noted the position of the body, where one of her hands was clenched around the rope, which could suggest that she was trying to relieve the pressure or save herself in the final stage.
After a preliminary examination and evaluation of the circumstances of the case, the authorities concluded that it was most likely a suicide. The case was therefore closed without any further signs of foul play.
