TAM PHUOC, DONG NAI PROVINCE, VIETNAM – JUNE 18, 2026 Tragic explosion occurred at a metal scrapyard, killing two men. According to the preliminary investigation, an acetylene gas cylinder exploded while the 56-year-old owner of the scrapyard, Phạm Văn Tuấn, was welding and cutting scrap metal. The force of the explosion tore his body apart. His 50-year-old neighbor, Nguyễn Văn Quyến, who was inside the facility at the time, also lost his life in the subsequent fire.
After two powerful explosions, a large fire engulfed the scrapyard and spread rapidly. Local residents attempted to rescue both men, but they were unable to enter because of the intense flames. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after about half an hour, but both men were found with no signs of life.
