SANTA RITA, PARAGUAY – DECEMBER 27, 2012 Random passerby noticed a strange floating object on the surface of the lake. When he realized that it was a human corpse, he immediately called the police to the scene.
When the body was pulled to the shore, it was apparent that it was a woman around 25 years old. She was half-naked – she was wearing only underwear. Her body showed signs of a violent death – especially a bleeding strangulation mark on her neck.
A bra belonging to the victim and a torn-out clump of her hair were found on the shore near the body. These traces suggest that a struggle may have taken place at the scene.
Information about the capture of the perpetrator, the identity of the victim, or the motive for the murder was never released. However, it is very likely that the woman became a victim of a sexually motivated attack.
