SIBOLANGIT, NORTH SUMATRA, INDONESIA – JULY 17, 2026 Tragic multi-vehicle traffic accident occurred on a road in Indonesia’s Sibolangit District, involving several passenger and commercial vehicles. According to the preliminary investigation, the crash was caused by a truck transporting barrels of water whose braking system likely failed while traveling on a mountain road. The out-of-control truck then crashed into vehicles driving in front of it.
The collision caused extensive damage to several vehicles, and emergency responders worked at the scene to rescue injured people and recover victims from the wreckage. The truck driver was taken into police custody for questioning, while the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
The consequences of the crash were exceptionally tragic. According to the latest information, four people were killed and several others suffered injuries of varying severity. One of the victims sustained catastrophic injuries in the collision, resulting in decapitation. The injured were transported to hospitals in Medan and the surrounding area.
