SYRIA, 2015 At the height of its power and greatest territorial expansion, terrorists from the notorious ISIS organization released a video showing the execution of a Russian citizen, Magomed Khasayev. He was identified as a Russian spy of Chechen origin who had been sent into ISIS-controlled territory to identify terrorist fighters and provide information about them to the Kremlin.
Using a military knife, a Russian-speaking Islamist beheads him while delivering a message to Vladimir Putin in the video. He accuses him of maintaining a military presence in Syria and supporting the regime of former Syrian President Assad. He also mentions Russia’s involvement in the wars in Afghanistan and Chechnya.
The Russian FSB, nor any other official state organization, made any statement regarding the video showing the execution of its citizen. The claim that Khasayev was a spy therefore could not be independently confirmed.
All videos and content published on this platform related to ISIS are in no way intended as a promotion of terrorism or this organization. We strongly condemn all forms of terrorism and extremist activities, including those associated with ISIS.
ISIS does not represent Islam. Islam is a religion of peace and compassion, whose values and teachings have nothing to do with the violent acts committed by this organization. Our goal is to inform and educate, not to spread hatred or support violence.
