NATAL, RIO GRANDE DO NORTE, BRAZIL – AUGUST 18, 2026 Tragic accident occurred in which a train struck a man on a railway line in the northern part of the city. The incident occurred near Soledade station in the Potengi neighborhood.
The man suffered horrific and fatal injuries. The force of the collision was so devastating that the train literally split him in half. Scientific police arrived at the scene to examine the site and carry out other necessary procedures. The victim’s identity has still not been officially confirmed.
The cause and exact circumstances of the accident remain unknown. CBTU, the company that operates the city’s rail transportation system, said it sent a team to the scene to ensure safety and carry out standard procedures. The company also expressed its condolences to the victim’s family.
CBTU subsequently reiterated that the railway line is intended exclusively for trains and that pedestrians should cross it only at designated railway crossings.
