BINH XUYEN, PHU THO, VIETNAM – AUGUST 29, 2026 Massive explosion shook a multi-story building in Phu Tho Province. The blast occurred at around 1:15 p.m. on the fourth floor of the building, which was used as a guesthouse and had approximately 40 rooms.
The force of the explosion caused several rooms on the fourth floor to collapse and also damaged the building’s structure and roof. Debris and other material were scattered into the surrounding area. One person died at the scene, while three others suffered injuries, mainly to the face, and were taken to a hospital.
Firefighters, rescuers, and police officers arrived at the scene, searched the damaged building, and assisted in rescuing the injured. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the explosion while also working to identify the victims.
