ZAPOPAN, JALISCO, MEXICO – AUGUST 10, 2026 Eight armed men wearing tactical clothing arrived in three vehicles at Tacos Fermín restaurant. After entering the establishment, they began shooting directly at a group of customers. The attack left two people dead and at least three others injured.
One of the victims was Jesús Aarón Olivas Cázares, who authorities said was a relative of well-known Mexican singer Alfredo Olivas. The second person killed was Pedro Fidel Álvarez Sánchez. Another relative of the singer was also among those injured.
The attackers fled the scene after the shooting. Police later secured an abandoned vehicle and two firearms near the restaurant, which were subjected to investigation. However, the motive for the attack and the identities of the perpetrators had not been officially established at the time the reports were published.
