Indian forces eliminated Pakistani terrorist

BUDGAM DISTRICT, JAMMU AND KASHMIR, INDIA – SEPTEMBER 3, 2026 In the Ashdar Gali area in the upper reaches of Yusmarg in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, a man identified as Yasir, a Pakistani member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) organization, was killed in a gunfight with Indian security forces. The operation, named Operation Ashdar, was launched based on intelligence about the presence of militants in densely forested mountainous terrain.

The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF took part in the joint operation. During the search, the security forces made contact with the militants, and following a subsequent gunfight, they killed Yasir. An AK-type rifle and other military equipment were found at the scene.

According to Indian authorities, Yasir had been on the security forces’ radar since 2024 and was allegedly linked to several attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, including an ambush on an Indian Air Force convoy in Poonch and attacks near Sonamarg and Bota Pathri.
