PURSAT, CAMBODIA – MAY 14, 2017 Phat Muoy, 29, killed her younger brother, Phat Pha, 24, during an argument over a chicken. According to police, Phat Pha had been drinking alcohol with friends before the attack and was also under the influence of drugs. He then got into a conflict with his older sister when he wanted to catch a chicken and prepare it as food. The argument subsequently turned violent.

According to investigators, Phat Muoy used a modified knife that more closely resembled a machete and attacked her brother a total of ten times. Phat Pha suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The woman told police that the remaining chickens were intended to be sold so that the family could repay its debts.
